Model design and classification of factors affecting the development of technological capabilities in Iranian E&P companies

Abstract :
The upstream development of the oil and gas industry has always been influenced by the development of technology, and the increase in technological capability is effective in the use and development of technology in this field. Because it will lead to an increase in production productivity and income for E&P companies. Also, the concept of technological ability and factors affecting it, despite some commonalities, is unique in each industry, and identifying and categorizing these indicators is important in E&P companies. By clarifying this research gap, this research seeks to provide a practical solution to increase the technological capability of these companies. The method of this research is mixed and in the qualitative part, data collection was done with library studies and field surveys. The results of the data analysis led to the identification and classification of factors and the extraction of their communication framework with technological capabilities in these companies. The data collection tool in the quantitative part is a questionnaire. The sample size for 5 E&P companies was determined by the Cochrane method of 100 people and hypothesis testing was done using Spss version 19 software. The results showed that, in the second layer, five factors "research and development management capability, legal capabilities, technological cooperation capability, technology absorption and development capability, access to resources" and in the third layer 17 factors on the technological capability of E&P companies are influential.
